It has been my endeavor to make a difference to people around me during my time on earth. I believe it’s in one’s selfish interest to be selfless. I decide (not strive) to be happy and to try and spread happiness around. See more under Oneness.

SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY / HUMANITY

  • Fall 2009 – ongoing With the belief that happiness is an art that can be learnt, shared, practiced and perfected, give a talk on happiness in the last part of each of the last classes in a semester as a parting gift (profound impact based on student feedback). Other fora include talk at Simmons GSLIS, podcast, Simmons alumni weekend, Simmons blog, Simmons magazine, Library 2.011 worldwide virtual conference, Talk Sikkim magazine issues, and one-on-one conversations.
  • Sep 2011 Developed a web portal view online to help streamline information and relief in the aftermath of 6.9 magnitude September 18, 2011 with its epicenter in Sikkim in the Indian Himalayas; registered as a volunteer in the September18 Facebook group
  • Fall 2011 – ongoing With verbal consent from students, compiled the technology tutorials created by students taking the course ‘LIS 488 Technology for Information Professionals’ in a single place for use of those wanting to learn different technology tools view online
  • Oct 2008 – ongoing Working on synthesizing various commentaries on the Bhagavad Gita; using visualization to help comprehend and apply its life lessons
  • 2000 Taught JavaScript to help bridge digital divide, SINDA (Singapore Indian Development Association), Singapore.
