As we all get settled into a new year we would like to take the time to welcome everybody to SCoSAA.

Hosted by the New England Archivists (NEA). Come for the chance to hang out with your peers and doing some low-key networking with local professionals. This is a informal social event, so everyone will be responsible for their own drink.

SCoSAA Reads (Nov 5)

The Gardner Heist book coverThis semester’s book is?The Gardner Heist: The True Story of the World’s Largest Unsolved Art Theft?by Ulrich Boser. This is an incredibly quick read about a very local event (right next door!).?Kathy Wisser and our GSLIS resident theft-specialist (studying, not practicing), Brian Shetler, will both be on hand to talk to us about other major thefts related to the archives!

When: Monday, November 5, 2012, from 4:30-6PM
Where: School of Management Building, Room 101

While we highly recommend you take the opportunity to read this book, we realize that there is only so much time in a semester and have provided a few other outlets for you to familiarize yourself with the book’s topic so you can come and join us for snacks and a good conversation about the world’s largest unsolved art theft!

Trivia Night (Sept 28)

When: 5:45pm-9pm; trivia starts at?6:30pm

ALASC and SCoSAA are hosting a trivia night! The questions will be a mix of library, archives, general knowledge trivia, and, most importantly, they will be FUN!

We suggest teams of 4-6 people; 8 is the maximum and there is no minimum.?If you don’t have a team, come?anyway; we will help match people up!?Friends and non-library students are very welcome, as well.

Appetizers will be served, but as always each person is responsible for his/her own drinks!

SCoSAA Welcome Picnic (July 11)

Join SCoSAA for a picnic in the grass! Meet new archives students and enjoy some cheese, crackers, and wine.

If you can’t make the picnic, come out to the Yard House (126 Brookline Avenue) on Thursday, July 12th, from 6:00-9:30PM for a Happy Hour hosted by ALASC. Appetizers are on them!
