Giselle Delotch

Giselle is a full-time student in the dual degree Archives/Records Management and Historyprogram. She received her bachelors degree in history from Humboldt State University in2010. She is interested in czarist Russian history and medieval European history withan eyeto women and cultural shifts. Giselles fascination with the tangible records of the past led herto focus on a career in the archives profession. She joined SCoSAA looking to get connectedwith the professional community and extend herself beyond the classroom. Born and raisedin California, this is her first time living out of state and there has definitely been some cultureshock. Outside of her archival and historical interests, Giselle enjoys reading, writing her ownsci-fi/fantasy stories, and watching movies.

The co-chairs:

  • Schedule and moderate monthly meetings
  • Coordinate events (field trips, workshops, panels) and volunteer opportunities
  • Moderate SCoSAA e-mail acccount and listserv
  • Act as student representatives to the archives faculty
  • Attend GSLIS Orientation to speak with incoming archives students
  • Order food for events

Caitlin is in her final semester of the dual degree Archives Management and History program. In 2009, she completed her undergraduate education at theUniversity of Delawarein Newark, DE, earning a bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Journalism and minors in History and Irish Studies. She then returned to Maryland, where she grew up, and worked as a copy editor and page designer for a newspaper company before eventually deciding to pursue graduate degrees. Since beginning at Simmons, Caitlin has interned at theCambridge Historical Commission, WGBH, and now the City of Boston Archives. She works as an archives assistant at Northeastern University’s Archives & Special Collections, and is co-founder and co-chair of the New England Archivists’ Roundtable for Early Professionals and Students (REPS).She has strong interests in the history of journalism, natural history and environmental history, and upon completing her education at Simmons, wouldideally like to workin a repository with ties to one of these topics.In her free time, Caitlinenjoys swimming, field hockey, running, reading, the indomitable Baltimore Ravens, andhanging out with her cats, Biggie and Tupac.

Elise Nickerson

Elise_NickersonElise is in her third semester in the Archives Concentration at Simmons GSLIS.She earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Connecticut in 2010.Spending time in UConns archives, the Thomas Dodd Center, introduced her to the world of archives.Elise started at GSLIS in January 2013, and has interned (and later volunteered) at Boston Universitys Howard Gottlieb Archival Research Center.With plans to graduate in May 2014, Elise is interested in records management and university archives.In her spare time, Elise enjoys reading, running, hanging out with her cats, and long walks around Boston.
