Fall Events
- Coffee Hours
SCoSAA will be hosting two coffee hours a month at Java City; there will be one in the afternoon and one in the evening so that everyone has a chance to come. ?Coffee hours serve as a forum for networking, discussions, and creating relationships with your colleagues at GSLIS.- Thursday, 22 September, 5 to 6:30 pm
This coffee hour is a chance for archives students, at all stages, to talk about their experience in the GSLIS program. ?You can also address any questions or concerns about 438 and the internship or give advice if you’ve already taken the course. - Monday, 26 September, 12:30 to 1:30 pm
Curious about SAA?s annual meeting? ?Want to share your SAA experiences? ?Come for an informal discussion about it.

October is National Archives Month! ?And we have a lot of exciting events planned.- A Night with Amy Benson Wednesday, 5 October, 4:30 pm in P-206
SCoSAA and ALASC co-host a Night with Amy Benson, Librarian/Archivist for Digital Projects at Harvard?s Schlesinger Library. ?Benson will share insight on digital archives work. - Join SCoSAA members at NEA?s Fall Meeting 14 ? 15 October
Since this fall?s meeting will be held at Dartmouth, which is not directly accessible by public transportation, SCoSAA will post a rideshare wiki in the coming weeks. ?Look for that soon. - Tour at the Harvard University ArchivesThursday, 21 October, 1 to 2 pm
- ?Emerging Practices in Archival Description?Wednesday, 26 October, 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the Special Functions Room
Panelists will talk about emerging trends in archival description and EAD. ?Speakers include Aaron Rubenstein of Tufts, Erica Boudreau of the JFK Library, and Kate Bowers of the Harvard University Archive. - Contests
We will be hosting contests surrounding archives advocacy, such as an elevator speech contest. ?So start planning your answers!

We have an opening for the position of Archivist. ?Tasks include maintaining and preserving SCoSAA records; photographing SCoSAA events; contributing to the SCoSAA blog; assisting with finding content for the website?s news page; and assisting the co-chairs as needed. Would you like to share your experiences about classes or work? ?Or would like to contribute about an engaging article you?ve read or an interesting repository you?ve visited? ?If so, we would love to have you as a guest blogger on our new website. ?Contact us if this interests you!?3) - Attend Events
