February Archives Tours

We have?two?tours planned for February – at the?Supreme Judicial Court Archives & Conservation Lab?(Tuesday, February 19th, 2013, from 10:30AM – 12:00PM) and the?Radcliffe Institute’s Schlesinger Library?(Thursday, February 28th, 2013, from 3:00-5:00PM). Both of these sites are accessible by public transit and are great opportunities to learn about different working environments.

 

Supreme Judicial Court Archives & Conservation Lab

The staff of the?Supreme Judicial Court Archives & Conservation Lab invite you to attend an information session on the responsibilities, functions, and activities of a government archives. The department head, archivist, and conservators will speak about maintaining intellectual control over a statewide collection & records management program, their users and how their records are used, a digitization initiative, and the techniques they perform to ensure the long-term preservation of colonial records.?The staff will be treating us to tea and cookies after the presentation!
