Time, date, and location vary
First session meets Tuesday, April 2
6:00-8:00 pm
First session meets Tuesday, April 2
6:00-8:00 pm
For students who hold white privilege: join a small discussion/working group to meet 2-4 times between now and the end of the semester and begin to work through Layla F. Saad’s workbook, Me & White Supremacy, together. Download for free/donation. Although everyone is affected differently by intersecting systems of injustice, as (however unwilling) beneficiaries of white supremacy, it is our responsibility to take on this work of self-education and action against it, and what better way to continue it than with our LIS colleagues. These groups will strive to be supportive but brave and self-challenging discussion spaces, and it’s suggested that you download and look through the book to make sure you can commit to the work before joining a group.
Three Boston/online groups will meet:
1) Mondays at 3 or 4pm; 2) Mondays or Wednesdays at 6pm; 3) Tuesdays or Thursdays at 6pm
One Portland, ME group will meet: Sundays at 2pm SLIS West group TBD, email if interested Email [email protected] to join a group.
