Nominations for Student Leadership NOW OPEN

It’s time to submit your nominations for next year’s SLIS student leadership positions! Student leadership is an excellent way to add practical experience in management, event planning, budgeting, and teamwork to your resume. You will become an integral part of the Simmons community and make friends along the way. So don’t hesitate!
We are nominating for May 2019-Spring 2020, but allowing enough time at the end of the spring semester to provide training for the new leadership and manage transitions. Newly elected officers will officially assume their positions in May 2019, at the end of the Spring semester.
The nomination period will close ONE WEEK FROM TODAY at 11:59pm on Saturday, April 6.
Ballots will open Sunday, April 7, and close at 11:59pm on Saturday, April 13.
Some additional reminders:
  • If you’re keen on learning more about the student orgs and the positions they offer, look for their bylaws on the Student Associations Directory.
  • If you have completed a full two semesters as an elected officer, you cannot run for that position again. However, you are invited to run for any other position on the same board, or other boards.
  • If you began your post at any time during this academic year as an acting officer (meaning you were not officially elected), you may serve in that same role again next year, but the position will still appear on the ballot and you must nominate yourself.
