*Public Lecture Series – Martha Mahard: Tales of the BPL
    12:00pm – 12:50pm – Collaboratory (P-314)
Professor Martha Mahard is currently overseeing a major inventory project in the Print Department at the Boston Public Library. The inventory project is the result of a year-long study she conducted and a crisis surrounding two mis-filed prints. With no known model on which to base such an inventory, Mahard and a team of Simmons interns are gathering data on a collection of prints which spans the entire history of printmaking – both fine art and reproductive prints – as well as posters, postcards and ephemera. In her talk, Mahard will describe some of the problems encountered during her initial survey and the actual implementation of the inventory project.
