Monday September 21st:

    *SCIRRT – SCIRRT Open House
    4:30 pm to 5:30 pm – Dean’s Conference Room (P111) in the Palace Road Building
    Are you interested in study abroad opportunities? Want to collaborate with information professionals in other countries? The Student Chapter of ALA’s International Relations Round Table (SCIRRT) cordially invites you to an Open House on Monday, September 21st at 4:30 in P111 (the Dean’s Conference Room). Come meet your internationally-minded peers and learn more about SCIRRT! Sushi, hummus and crackers, pasta, homemade Kuwati dessert, and other yummy foods from around the world will be served! Drop in any time!

Tuesday September 22nd:

    Join the LISSA Officers for a welcome back to the semester gathering. There will be coffee and bagels from Panera, and several of your LISSA officers will be on hand to answer any questions you may have, or just chat! Stop by at any time!
    *Public Lecture Series – Gerry Benoit
    12:00 pm – 1:00 pm – Collaboratory, Palace Road Building
    Join Professor Gerry Benoit for a lunchtime lecture. The Public Lecture Series was previously known as the Lunchtime Lectures, and will be made available through a recording on the YouTube channel for those that cannot attend.
    *MSLA-SIG – Welcoming Pizza Party

    MSLA-SIG will be holding a pizza party to welcome new and returning students for the fall semester. Current and prospective SLTP students are welcome!

Friday September 25th:

    *Panopticon – First Meeting of the Semester
    6:00 pm – 8:00 pm – Collaboratory, Palace Road Building
    Panopticon, Simmons College’s special interest group for students interested in arts librarianship, visual resources, and cultural heritage, is holding its first ever open forum meeting! Come and join us for pizza, dolphins, conversation, and planning for the semester’s events and activities. We’ve already got some exciting things we can’t wait to share with you!
    *Simmons Shark Hack
    6:00 pm Friday – 7:00 pm Saturday – Simmons Campus
    This fall, September 25-26, Simmons College will be hosting its first annual hackathon, Simmons SharkHack! Because Simmons College is a women-centered college, our hackathon focuses on providing college women and recent graduates with the opportunity to join forces and develop new mobile apps, games, hardware hacks, and more. While this is focused on the undergraduate community, recent graduates and those with technical expertise are more than welcome to join or mentor – visit the site here to find out more and register.
