Join our student association’s for this month’s all SLIS student mixer! This event will take place at Puddingstone Tavern on the eve of St. Patrick’s day. Appetizers will be provided.

Saturday, March 18th:
PLG Prison Book Program
Brought to you by PLG (Progressive Librarians Guild  )

10:30 – 4:00pm, 1306 Handcock Street, Quincy, MA

Join PLG and Prison Book Program. Prison Book Program mails books to people in prison to support their educational, vocational and personal development and to help them avoid returning to prison after their release. We also aim to provide a quality volunteer experience that introduces citizens to issues surrounding the American prison system and the role of education in reforming it.

Students can meet PLG officers at 10:30 am on Saturday in the lobby of the Palace Road building. We will travel to the event site together.

AMIA Film Handling Workshop :
Brought to you by AMIA (Association of Moving Image Archivists)

2:00 – 5:00pm, Collaboratory (P-314)
Topics Covered include identifying mainstream film supports, optical soundtracks, and proper storage. Join us for a hands on experience with film. No experience needed!
Registration is limited to 10 people. Admission is FREE!
