Upcoming Spring Semester Events

Welcome back, everyone! We’re excited to have more events for the spring semester. Mark your calendars for these events we have in store:

Career Q&A Series, Part 1 – 02/19 6:00 pm EST

Join us for the first installment of our Career Q&A Series! We’ll be joined by three Simmons SLIS alumni who will share their real-world IS&T career experiences, from how they landed their first jobs to an inside look at what they do in their roles today.

The series will be hosted on Zoom. All are welcome — just be sure to register in advance. While you’re there, share any questions you might have for our panelists.

NE-ASIS&T Conference Panel- 03/05 11:00 am EST

This year’s NE-ASIS&T Conference, “It Took a Pandemic: Reinventing Libraries in an Era of Change,” will be hosted on Friday, March 5. The Simmons Student Chapter will be sponsoring a panel of 5 current Simmons students: Deeth Ellis, Kevin Kidd, David Leonard, Kate Nyhan, and Jae Jennifer Rossman. The panel will be about the ways their libraries have responded to and addressed challenges caused by COVID-19. Co-chairs Jennifer Sunoo and Andrew Schofield will be moderating the panel.

Part 2 of the Q&A series will continue in April. More SLIS alumni will share their job trajectory and answer questions about their career path. More details will be announced closer to the event date.
