The Simmons ASIS&T officers have adopted a new mission for the chapter, as part of our planning process for the 2011-2012 school year. The mission statement we adopted reads:

The mission of the Simmons Chapter of the American Society for Information Science and Technology is to advance students? experience and education in the information sciences at Simmons College, and to support of the mission of the national organization.

The ASIS&T mission reads:

The mission of the American Society for Information Science and Technology is to advance the information sciences and related applications of information technology by providing focus, opportunity, and support to information professionals and organizations.
