Interested in issues of diversity and inclusion in cultural heritage information systems?
Join Simmons ASIS&T for a panel on Design for Diversity – an IMLS grant-funded project from Northeastern University Libraries to develop a toolkit for exploring these issues. Design for Diversity covers topics including algorithmic bias, digital curation, knowledge organization systems, and user experience as they pertain to libraries, archives, and cultural heritage institutions.
In this panel discussion, we will get a chance to look at the toolkit website and discuss how the theory and practice of designing for diversity can inform our LIS education.
Refreshments will be provided. Bring a laptop or device so that you can explore the Des4Div toolkit website.
