Tech Lab Workshop – OCR – Optical Character Recognition – 4/18

SLIS Tech Lab
2:30-3:30 pm, P314 Collaboratory

On behalf of Martin Mehrling, Technology Coordinator:

Want to make digital copies of documents? I don’t mean just snapshots, I mean real honest duplicates, with text that can be selected, copied, and read by your computer.

OCR (Optical character recognition) software is the fastest and most effective way to generate machine actionable documents from their paper counterparts!

Our workshop will help orient you in the world of OCR so you will be able to take this great tool and use it for your own archive, digital library, or even your own personal collection.

Bring your own documents to scan! We would be happy to help get you started on your own project.

Registration is not required, but an Eventbrite sign-up is appreciated for a headcount.
