Thank you to everyone who participated in our Resume-X event! We had an amazing turn out of professionals and students.

We enjoyed delicious brownies, sandwiches, drinks, and company!

Resume-X introduced twelve professionals all ranging from public libraries, companies from consulting to pharmaceutical, and schools. Students and professionals were able to network, review resumes and receive general advice about finding jobs and professional careers.

Designed as speed-dating, students were paired into groups of three and assigned with a professional. Every few minutes (ranging from 2-3) each student was switched to different professionals. With a red pen, the professionals corrected resumes and gave insightful advice on bullet points, skills, and how to sell yourself. Anna Rothman, Sr. Information Specialist from Vertex stated it the best when it came to resumes, "Be a bro. Think like a bro. Be braggy about yourself."

Heard from numerous students and SLA professionals, Resume-X was a great event! With the continued participation of students and the help of SLA New England and SLA professionals, Resume-X and future events will continue to be a great success 🙂
