A letter to Ruth from Marjorie Eastman, President of the Maine Club, written on both sides of a white slip of paper with "North Hall / 86 Pilgrim Road / Boston, Mass." pre-printed on top. "Ruth Gates" written on back. Unfolded: 18 by 15 cm. Transcription: " Room 333 / September 18, 1922 / Dear Ruth: / I just want to tell you in behalf of our Maine Club how glad we are to have you here at Simmons, and how glad I personally am that you are here. Even if you do perhaps find the work a little hard, we have just lots of good times all mixed in. When one is away from home, it somehow is a grand and glorious feeling to meet someone from your state - so be sure to come to our business meetings, and to our social meetings, and meet and know the other girls from Maine, just every time you can. I am awfully anxious to meet you - can't you come to Y.W. Tea tomorrow (Tuesday) after school in the Student Room, and if you do not find out who I am, ask a Senior, or someone close until you do, and please introduce yourself. / If there is anything that I can do for you, I am just to glad to. Come in and see me. / Lovingly, / Marjorie Eastman / (President of Maine Club)"
