The scholarship came with a 6-year bond to work for a Singapore-registered company. I became a permanent resident and completed my bond. I then went back to school &#8211; did my Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore. I spent fourteen years in Singapore.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Modern Singapore is a celebrated success story of the 20th century.
