I painted it over two and a half months from September to December 1993.<\/p>\n<p>On the advice of Mr Purohit, I&#8217;ve used a lot of sap green and burnt sienna in the painting, and used it everywhere, so that a very strong sense of harmony emerges.<\/p>\n<p>It is based on the 1795 work, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wga.hu\/frames-e.html?\/html\/w\/wright\/rainbow.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Landscape with Rainbow<\/a><\/em> of Joseph Wright, currently housed at the Derby Museum and Art Gallery, Derby, England.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/slis.simmons.edu\/naresh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/nareshrainbow.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"344\" border=\"0\" \/><br \/>\n1996 (?) photo<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>paintings-journey-exhibitions &#8211; oil | watercolor | acrylic | pencil | charcoal | pastel This was my first oil painting.
