The intern will be primarily responsible for collection management projects in the Dibner Library as part of the reorganization of the stacks for the replacement of the Liebert HVAC unit. Understanding the structure and functions of the various Dibner collections and working with them will offer in-depth experience in collection stewardship of historical materials. The intern will also contribute with hands-on and on-line work in outreach projects of the Special Collections department at the Smithsonian Libraries and Archives.

Requirements
Library school student interested in cultural heritage and special collections librarianship. Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge about core library functions are expected. Interest in the development of sciences and management of historical collections are preferred.
