Project Details
We welcome a Simmons University student to join our small team of (soon to be) four staff members, several of whom are Simmons University alumni. As we are a small team, there are plenty of exciting projects and opportunities from which to learn, and we work to find create an experience that aligns with each interns career goals.
A few potential projects include, but are not limited to:
-Rehousing and cataloging photographs, including entering description in our collection guide (Excel) and/or ArchivesSpace catalog. Scanning and adding select images and metadata to Preservica as time permits.
-Creating exhibits in one or both of two spaces within the Pastoral Center, one with exhibit cases and the other for a photograph exhibit.
-Watching/listening to digitized content and adding metadata such as titles and time stamps to audiovisual materials stored within Preservica.
-Surveying an individual record group and making recommendations for ongoing maintenance or destruction based on record retention schedule.
