Project Details
The practicum student will provide support for the Walker Art Center Archives and will work with institutional records, artists’ papers, and ephemera files with a goal of preserving the materials while making them accessible through the collections management databases, library catalog, and website. The Intern will also attend Archives + Library Department meetings and participate in library programming. Responsibilities may include processing department records and special collections, digitizing analog photographs and documents, performing basic preservation needs, and assisting researchers.

Requirements
Currently enrolled in a master’s degree program in library or information science program with a concentration in archives, or a similar degree focused on archival studies.
Strong computer skills and knowledge of library systems. Knowledge of MARC, RDA, OCLC. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Interest in contemporary arts and museums a plus. Ability to work as part of a team and independently. Ability to lift 40 pounds. Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work at a computer. Requires concentration and ability to work in a quiet environment
