Processing the Perkins Foundry Collection

The Perkins Iron Foundry, located in Bridgewater, MA, traces its roots back to 1694, making the Perkins family the oldest continually iron manufacturing family in the country (1694-2024). The Foundry is closing at the end of 2024. Their entire archival collection dating from the 1850s to 1970s or so has been donated to BSU and is in need of processing. This will entail hands on work with the material in the collection to appraise content, re-house in acid free folders and boxes, and creating a finding aid for the collection for researchers to access.
