Site Description
The library is on the second floor of a historic building on Beacon St near the State House. The reading room is largely original to its 1898 construction, the library stacks date to about the 1960s, and a major renovation in 2019 updated the rest of the spaces. There are elevators to the main spaces and offices, but the second floor of the stacks is only accessibly by stairs (11 steps) due to the historic structure.
