The Fall 2024 HMANE Senior Student Archivist will assist in the organization of visual assets within an archaeological archive. The HMANE houses the records of Theresa Goell, the archaeologist responsible for the excavation of several sites in Turkey. Previous museum efforts have provided minimal processing (preliminary sorting, boxing, and inventory) of this large and important archaeological record. During the course of work, Goell's excavation team at the site of Nemrud Dagi produced thousands of images (photographic negatives, prints, and slides, along with drawings and plans). The Fall 2024 Senior Student Archivist will work to order and simplify these records. Unique items will be rehoused in archival storage, with duplicate items selected for deaccession and disposal.

Requirements
Student must be able to read and decipher cursive handwriting. A strong visual memory would be beneficial. An archaeological background is not necessary
