Archival Collections Processing At the Rochester Public Library

This project will involve the processing of two named collections from the holdings of the Rochester Public Library's Local History & Genealogy Division. The student will have the opportunity to develop their skills by working on progressively larger and more complicated collections. The first collection to be processed will be a very small collection (0.5 cubic feet or less) that will provide a modest and accessible initial opportunity to develop basic processing skills. The second collection will be larger (1-2 cubic feet) and allow the student to further develop those skills while working on a larger and more complex project. The exact collections to be processed will be determined through discussion with the student and can be tailored to meet specific areas of practice in which the student is interested, such as photographic collections.
