Site Description
The New England College of Optometry (NECO) is an independent, non-profit optometry located in Boston's Back Bay. Founded in 1894, it is the oldest continually-operated institution of its kind in the United States. The College's archives are maintained by the NECO Library, and include numerous materials that represent the College's rich history. These collections - including photographs, personal papers, publications, yearbooks, theses, and more - provide a window into the development of optometry as a profession throughout the 20th century and beyond.
