Project Details
The Arlington Historical Society is seeking an intern to assist with the organization and documentation of a collection of 19th-century deeds. This collection, approximately 3 cubic feet in size, currently has limited provenance and requires better sorting and comprehensive documentation. The intern will have the opportunity to work closely with historical documents, enhance their archival skills, and contribute to the preservation of local history.
Responsibilities include assessing the current state of the deeds collection, organizing and sorting the deeds for improved accessibility, documenting and cataloging each deed, noting any significant details and provenance, and creating a detailed inventory and a finding aid for the collection.
