Project Details
Over the course of the internship, the intern will assist with:
1. Processing a small collection of records from the University Archives. Possible tasks include: re-housing into archival-quality folders and/or boxes, arranging materials into series and/or subseries, labeling or re-numbering folders, writing a finding aid for the collection and adding it to the library's website.
2. Intern will also be invited to observe instructional session conducted by Reference & Special Collections Librarian and may also be present for individual consultations with students and/or faculty. Student may also have the opportunity to observe and discuss ongoing planning for collection development in the University Archives.
Schedule: The archivist is available Mon. through Fri. between 9am and 5pm. Evening hours available with prior arrangement.
Working conditions: Intern will work with and be supervised by Head of Archives & Technical Services. Some hours will be worked independently while Librarian is engaged with other duties. Intern provided with use of Archives desktop computer and scanner (as needed).

Requirements
Requirements: Must have basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, basic research skills, willingness to lean/work with technology in an archival setting; strong communication skills. Because the library staff is fairly small, intern must also be comfortable interacting with administrators, library staff, faculty and students. Must be organized, responsive and self-motivated.
