Special Collections Processing Intern

The internship will include the arrangement and description of at least one small collection, either from the Cape Verdean collections or the Rhode Island College Archives within the RIC Special Collections. The intern will also create EAD finding aids to upload the collection descriptions to RIAMCO. While processing, they will select items for digitization, and will learn how to digitize materials and create metadata in order to make them accessible online. Additionally, the internship will allow for the student to respond to various reference requests and shadow potential instruction sessions at the discretion of the intern. If time allows, the intern can also create a small exhibit relating to the collection they described.
