Project Details
1. Complete survey of current digital assets, both born-digital and digital surrogates. This survey should examine the SPAR server, as well as any archival material stored on legacy systems in archives (e.g., CD’s, thumb drives etc.).
2. Migrate existing digital surrogates that are deemed adequate quality from SPAR server & legacy systems to SPAR DAMS, using appropriate software.
3. Embed metadata into to all digital surrogates using the SPAR Digital Asset Management Guidance and apply file naming conventions.
4. Prepare digital surrogates for addition to public access site.
5. Perform digital preservation task, such as migrating proprietary files to recommended preservation formats and ensuring adherence to best practices. Write SOPs that reflect these procedures.
