Site Description
Columbia College Chicago is a private, nonprofit college offering a curriculum blending creative and media arts, liberal arts, and business, serving 6,700 students in both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The Archives & Special Collections holds college records and special collections in support of college curriculum, handles record retention activities, and manages the college digital repository. Its staff also operates the Center for Black Music Research (CBMR), whose collections highlight the role of black music in world culture with materials from the United States, the Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, and Latin America.
