Project Details
The intern will process a chosen series of records related to the creation and publication of one issue of Daedalus, the American Academy’s scholarly journal. Using extensible processing practices, also known as the “More Product, Less Process” (MPLP) method, the intern will inventory identified boxes with related material, create a processing plan, physically arrange the records according to the processing plan, and describe the records in a Microsoft Access database. The database will generate a finding aid in Word, HTML, and EAD/XML as a final product. As time permits, the intern will select and digitize records to link in finding aid online. The intern will also receive practice in transcribing pre-20th century manuscripts, if interested.
