Canton Historical Society: Huntoon Papers

The papers of D.T.V. Huntoon are a collection of notebooks, journals, letters, diaries and other papers that were collected by a local historian in the latter part of the 19th century. They have been stored in three metal suitcases and have not been catalogued or handled in over a century. This project will create a new storage solution, develop a finding aid, and assess the net steps (if any) in the archival process. The material will be processed at the Canton Public Library and transferred back to the local historical society when complete. The library is located next to the Canton Center (Stoughton Branch) of the MBTA Commuter Rail and is an accessible building.
