Tribal Historic Preservation Department

44,000 Sq. Ft Tribal Government/Community Center that serves as headquarters for Tribal Operations as central location for all programs, departments and services of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe. The structure was built in 2014. The archives space is relatively small, designed and constructed to meet best practices and general archival standards. At the heart of the project lies the Tribal Archives, a treasure trove of historical documents, artifacts, photographs, and records that chronicle the Tribe's journey through centuries of challenges and triumphs. The Tribe recognizes the importance of passing down this invaluable heritage to younger generations, as well as educating the public about the Tribe's distinctive legacy and its resilience in the face of historical oppressions and adversity.
