Project Details
The project is specific to a department at UNH (Natural Resources and the Environment) but is two-fold to meet the 60-hour requirement.

The first portion of the project involves processing the papers and records of emeritus faculty that we currently have housed in Nesmith Hall. This includes – but is not limited to – sorting paper documents, digitizing photos, cataloging items, and creating a finding aid that will provide people with the ability to find the items as needed. This project partly involves a Forestry professor who was influential in preserving College Woods, a UNH landmark.

The other project involves the same as above but is for a research project undertaken by one of our professors regarding an Indigenous Tribe. It also includes cassettes and other digital media ripe for transcription, which would help further preservation. This project would involve sensitive materials that would otherwise require releases to be made public (i.e., photos of individuals, perhaps religious items meant to stay private). Still, I could provide a finding aid to Simmons and to the school that these items originated from. Dr. Cohn has expressed an interest in this as it would help these people obtain a well-documented view of their culture that they could use as teaching aids for their students.
