Site Description
The Archives are on the third floor of the Museum's main building. Built in 1877, the Queen Anne-style structure was designed to be a company store for the Willimantic Linen Company on the first two floors, and a library for mill workers and their families on the third floor. The Austin Dunham Library operated from 1877 until c. 1940. It consists of two large rooms, a reading room / workspace, and an archival storage room. Although the first two floors of the building are ADA compliant, the third floor archives are accessible only by stairs.
