BU Libraries is looking for an SLIS student completing courses in Archives Management to help coordinate with the various archives and special collections across BU for creation, management, and maintenance of archival and digital collections metadata in Boston University’s brand new archival information management system (ArchivesSpace). This project would coordinate the requirements of local archive managers, and assist in adding item-level metadata for digital collections projects to ensure long-term access to our special collections across BU.

Requirements
-Knowledge of current national data standards related to the archival control of collection materials and in the use and application of DACS, EAD, LCSH, and LCNA.
-Knowledge of strategies and technology developed or adopted by the archival community for managing born-digital archival and manuscript materials.
-Familiarity with digital objects, digital collections, and related digital content and metadata standards such as Dublin Core, METS, and MODS.
