Project Details
This project involves assisting with writing the finding aid for several series of the David Wheeler collection which is currently being processed. David Wheeler (1925-2012) was an American theatre director, most well known for founding the Theatre Company of Boston. He served as its artistic director from 1963 to 1975, and put on over 80 productions before its closing, including works by controversial playwrights such as Samuel Beckett, Sam Shepard, Edward Albee, and Bertolt Brecht.
The majority of the materials in the collection have already been arranged and rehoused, so they are ready to be described in the finding aid. However, there are several series that remain to be processed, so if this student wants more practice in physically sorting and arranging materials, there is certainly an opportunity for that as well. Training will be provided for every aspect of the project.
