Project Details
In 2017, the Anchorage Museum accessioned the archives of local photography studio Boyer Photography. The collection, whose original order is divided by order number, comprises mostly of high school senior portraits and family portraits, as well as group orders such as weddings and corporate events. The collection contains approximately 240 cubic feet, of which only a small portion has been processed. The student will receive training in the handling and preservation of paper, film, and photographic prints. Following the existing processing plan, they will appraise each order, remove any retained records from original housing (e.g., staples, tape, non-archival paper/plastic), place into archival housing, label each item, physically arrange the processed orders, and update the collection's finding aid with the newly processed metadata.
