Advanced internship at Rhode Island College Special Collections

Rhode Island College Special Collections holds records relating to the college's history, as well as cultural heritage in Rhode Island, particularly the Cape Verdean community. Many of these collections have been organized, however few have been described. This internship will include describing collections using DACS, and then creating EAD finding aids. The student will also be able to select items from the collection they are describing for digitization and then, after receiving training, they will then be responsible for digitizing those items. Once the items are digitized, they will also create metadata in order for them to be made accessible in our online institutional repository. The student will receiving training and then help with research and reference support in Special Collections and participate in instruction sessions if schedules align.
