Project Details
Under the supervision of the archivist, the student will process a portion of the Retina Society records, including surveying, rehousing, and describing unprocessed materials documenting the history of the Retina Society, as well as assisting in weeding a series of publications included in the collection. The Retina Society is an internationally-recognized professional society for ophthalmologists who specialize in researching and treating conditions of the retina. The student will work on drafting a finding aid for the collection and input that finding aid into ArchivesSpace. The student will be given the opportunity to accompany the archivist in any relevant meetings or professional development activities when possible.

The Abraham Pollen Archives is a small archives within the Harvard Library system that collects, preserves, and makes accessible records and objects related to the history of Massachusetts Eye and Ear and the histories of ophthalmology and otolaryngology more generally.

Requirements
The student must complete the required onboarding process prior to being cleared to work on site, which includes online trainings and receiving or providing proof of up-to-date COVID-19 and flu vaccinations, as well as a negative TB test (Occupational Health can assist the student with documentation and receiving shots or tests as necessary).
