Project Details
Smith College Libraries UX Lab is a new space. The paid internship, of 10 weeks duration at 17 hours per week, is an opportunity to collaborate on building the program and expanding services offered to the campus community.

The Smith College Libraries staff follow principles of user-centered design in our approach to developing a new website or improving tools, services and spaces. The UX Lab is a dedicated facility with two equipped rooms located in the Neilson Library complex. Services for students, faculty, and staff are under development.

The internship is designed to build knowledge and skills for students with an expressed interest in learning about user experience practices within a liberal arts college environment. As a key partner in the establishment and promotion of a new service model, interns will engage in outreach activities, prepare and manage educational resources, help to organize content for library staff as well as end-users, facilitate UX studies, and conduct training or workshop sessions.
