Project Details
You will be working on an assigned series of a very large (over 600 boxes in total) collection of records from the American Textile History Museum (ATHM), a now-defunct museum in Lowell, Massachusetts. These materials were transferred to Simmons for temporary custody and processing by SLIS interns; once completed the records will be deposited into the permanent collections of University of Massachusetts, Lowell. Attached to this email you can find some historical context about the ATHM written by their Librarian and by a Dean Emerita of SLIS. SLIS interns have been working on this collection for four semesters now.
You will be working on these series in teams of four. Your teammates are listed below. One group will be processing materials from the "Development/Public Relations" series, while the other group will be processing the "Textile Conservation Center" series.
