Reverend Samuel Cooke Personal Papers & Sermons

Samuel Cooke (1709-1783) was the first minister of the 2nd Parish Church of Cambridge (what would become Arlington). We have a small collection of his personal papers and weekly sermons that have yet to be properly cataloged. The could also use better organization and rehousing. We have had repeated requests for this material but it's too complex for a volunteer and we haven't had the staff time to do it. The intern(s) could begin the process of digitizing but perhaps could lay the groundwork for a future complete digitization of the collection.
We would also like the intern to explore options for "crowdsourced" handwritten document transcription. These materials are written in an antiquated hand and are difficult for the average person to read. We have heard of other institutions using other sites or programs to outsource this tedious task to many interested amateur historians.
