Intern will work with the civil rights oral history transcripts from HFCA 1817 (NPS Oral History Collection). Intern will review the transcripts for content, follow institutional standard operating procedures for making each transcript Section 508 compliant, which involves conversion of the original Microsoft Word files to Adobe PDF/A format. Intern will also learn to embed descriptive metadata for each PDF/A file. Intern will enter catalog information about each interview into ICMS, the Interior Collections Management System.

Requirements
Intern is already working with the NPS History Collection through a National Coalition for Preservation Education (NCPE)-funded internship. It was agreed that the intern can dedicate 60 hours of her current internship to this field experience project and will work on a project that is different and distinct from her daily archival activities.
