Organizing Prescott House Historical Records

The Prescott House collection covers the history of the building at 55 Beacon Street that serves as the Colonial Dames headquarters as well as a museum open to the public. The collection also contains information about the owners of the house during the 19th century, including the noted historan William Prescott. Thanks to the work of the Field Fellow program of the Massachusetts Historical Commission, the collection has received initial organization but much work remains to be done. This is a potentially important collection for outside researchers as both the building and its occupants have historical significance.
