Simmons University Field Experience Study Project
Compensation: 3 course credits

Abigail Wedlick, student of Simmons University, is to complete a 60-hour field study in the Molly Brown House Museum’s archive collections for the spring semester of 2023. The project will be under direct supervision of the Curator of Collections, Stephanie McGuire. The project will commence the week of February 13 and terminate by May 5, 2023.
The field study will provide invaluable experience handling, organizing, rehousing, and cataloguing historic archive collections. Tasks include assessing each historic period material to determine best organizational strategies as well as safest storage options for the unique documents’ needs. After assessment, the archival materials will be moved to their appropriate grouping and rehoused using safe archival materials. The student will gain cataloguing experience by creating new and updating existing records for each item as it is assessed and rehoused.
