Documents of one of the principal WW2 German cultural looting agencies, the Einsatzstab Reichsleiter Rosenberg (ERR), are essential for locating and claiming still-missing cultural treasures. After the Second World War, original ERR documents were widely dispersed and today are held in over 40 archival repositories, described in ten separate country chapters in the Guide. Prepared by a preeminent expert on WWII displaced archives, this extensive Guide documents the current locations of remaining ERR files and many related sources, details their contents, and provides links to many online files and related reference compendia. The Guide includes considerable documentation regarding subsequent fate, retrieval, and restitution of ERR and other cultural loot – art, archives, and books.
The project involves updating and verifying online references for country chapters of this online Guide, as well as coordinating the formatting and editing of the bibliographic documentation. Occasional library reference work involves checking related articles and reference works.

Basic historical background in European cultural (including art) history – especially WW2 period. Some experience in archival/document descriptions/editing. Reading knowledge of German.
