Albert Murray papers processing

The Albert Murray Papers Processing Temp will be responsible for the detailed arrangement and description of the Albert Murray papers (MS Am 3186). Albert Murray was a Black novelist and jazz and literary critic, and these papers were brought to Houghton Library in partnership with the Harvard University African and African American Studies Department, starting in 1998 with the most recent accrual in 2016. Presently described in the aggregate, the Albert Murray Papers Processing Temp will provide additional detailed description and arrangement of the papers in order to improve access to and boost awareness of the materials in the papers. The Temp will work on this project for 14 hours per week with the close supervision of the Interim Head, Manuscript Section and update the finding aid and catalog records by the end of their term and complete basic end processing tasks.
