Project Details
I can host either 438 or 512:

438 Project: The intern will arrange and describe a manuscript collection, creating a finding aid compliant with the national standard Describing Archives: A Content Standard (DACS). The intern will work with their supervisor to intellectually and physically organize the material, apply appropriate preservation measures if needed, determine the correct subject and agent headings for the finding aid and library catalog record, and create a post for social media to promote the collection. Depending on time, and the student’s familiarity with archival management systems, the finding aid may be entered into ArchivesSpace, the Phillips Library repository of finding aids, for public access.

512 Project: The intern will arrange and describe a variety of manuscript collections, creating finding aids compliant with the national standard Describing Archives: A Content Standard (DACS). The intern will work with their supervisor to intellectually and physically organize the material, apply appropriate preservation measures if needed, determine the correct subject and agent headings for the finding aid and library catalog record, and create a post for social media to promote the collections. Finding aids will be created in ArchivesSpace, the Phillips Library repository of finding aids, for public access.
